Summer may be coming to an end but still have lots in store for you to look forward to this year.
International Red Panda Day - September 20th
Meet us at the Red Panda habitat from 10:00am - 2:00pm for a scavenger hunt, colouring, activities, and face painting. We will have a Red Panda Creature Feature at 1:30 for an opportunity for you to learn all about red pandas with our education team.
The Red Panda-themed scavenger hunt will run all weekend, from Friday Sept 19th - Sunday Sept 21st. The scavenger hunt cards can be picked up and returned at the gift shop, for a chance to win a prize.
Ghosts of the Animal Kingdom - October 4th - 31st
Join us as we honour recently extinct species with tombstones and stories shared through words and video. As you explore the zoo, look for the “resurrected” species—conservation success stories proving that action can bring life back from the brink.
Ghosts of the Animal Kingdom turns reflection into resolve: extinction is permanent, but hope remains alive.
Teacher Pro-D Day - October 24th
The Greater Vancouver Zoo is excited to offer a Professional Development Day for educators on October 24th from 9am - 1pm. We will be offering workshops to discuss the Role of the Modern Zoo as it relates to conservation programs, education, and research. This will be the perfect opportunity to experience a visit to the GVZoo through the eyes of a student, as well as provide the chance to ask questions.
