Q: What amenities are available?
A: Potable water, propane fire pits, portable washrooms, water and electricity (are available in the picnic area.
Additional food and camp gear are not provided, and wood fires are prohibited during fire bans.
Q: What are our food options?
A: Food can be purchased at our Oasis Kitchen during business hours. The GVZoo will accommodate after-hours food/pizza deliveries.
Q: Where do we park?
A: Parking is done at the Savannah Entrance, where we load and transport the gear. We provide free parking.
2 vehicles will be permitted to park in the zoo at the campsite but cannot be driven without a zoo staff member to escort the vehicle.
Q: How do we get gear to the site?
A: You may transport gear in the two group vehicles and the Zoo Transport Vehicle. Multiple trips are possible.
Q: Is there a place to store gear the next morning?
A: Unfortunately, all supplies must be stored in a vehicle the next morning.
Q: When is check-in?
A: Groups should arrive between 4 pm and 6 pm. Exceptions can be made if necessary.
Q: Can we explore the zoo?
A: Once your camp gear is set up, you may explore the zoo until dusk. From dusk until 8 am, everyone must stay inside the picnic area. You can explore the zoo after 8 am. We request everything be packed before you wander before the Zoo public opening at 9 am.
Everyone who paid for the NITW experience has access to the zoo for the day. Anyone else has to pay full price.
Q: Is there a lights-out time?
A: Our animals are sleepy and need to go to bed! Fires must be out by 10 and guests in their tents by 11:00
Our animals have lots to say at night; if this doesn't soothe you to sleep, we suggest bringing your earplugs.
Q: Can people leave early or arrive in the morning?
A: If you have individuals requiring early departure before 10 pm, we can escort them. With limitations, we can accommodate early admission under special circumstances.
Q: How does a typical night work?
A: Everyone arrives between 4 and 6 pm at the Savannah Entrance. Payment is settled with the contact or designated leader prior to admissions leaving. Anything that needs to be taken to the campsite will be loaded into a zoo vehicle. Vehicles will drive to the campsite. Campers set up camp, eat food, enjoy their evening, and add on activities. The group must gather back in the picnic area at dusk.
Your breakfast/coffee is on your schedule; all sites are packed and loaded by 9:00 am. All vehicles will drive out together. Anyone who wants to come back in can do so freely. Any adults/children who did not stay the night and are not part of the booking would have to buy admission.
Q: Seating and tables?
A: The picnic area has tables, but you can bring chairs around fire pits or stargaze.
Q: Covered areas?
A: This is an outdoor venue. There are three large pavilions that can provide moderate protection from the rain for some tents, but it may not be enough for the whole group. In the event of bad or extreme weather, we will either cancel the evening in advance with discussions with the group or prepare to escort groups off the premises. Some indoor spaces can be made available for temporary sheltering.
Q: Kids under 3?
A: Children under 3 are free. Please inform our booking representative so we can mark their attendance.
Q: Refunds?
A: Full Refunds can be provided up until 48 hours before the scheduled visit.
Q: Is there a minimum or maximum of people?
A: There is no minimum participant number if the minimum deposit rate is paid. However, there is a maximum of 50 participants.
Q: What add-ons are available?
A: We have several activity add-ons such as animal meet and greets, tours, train rides, outdoor movies, yard games, popcorn and bike/critter cruiser rentals. We are happy to be adaptable to your timing and interests, please reach out to booking@gvzoo.com for program availability.
