We are extremely happy and relieved to announce this morning that 1 year old wolf Tempest has been found safe and is now back with her family putting an end to a 72-hour search and rescue operation.
On the morning of Friday, August 19th we were able to retrieve her safely near the property of The Greater Vancouver Zoo and return her to her wolf pack. The public will now be able to see Tempest re-united with her family. The Greater Vancouver Zoo will be re-opened to the public on Saturday, August 20th.
We are so grateful for this positive outcome for Tempest but are still processing the loss of Chia.
We would like to take a moment to thank everyone in the community for the tremendous outpouring of support and well wishes during this difficult time.
We’d also like to thank the Langley RCMP and B.C. Conservation Officer Service for their prompt response and assistance.
This is still an ongoing investigation, and we would like to ask that anyone with information to please contact the Langley RCMP: 604-532-3200.
