The Greater Vancouver Zoo has three kilometres of paved pathways and is completely accessible for wheelchairs, bikes, strollers, scooters, in-line skates, and wagons.

Starting from October 1st, train will operate from Friday to Monday and Statutory holidays; except Oct 22-25th 2018 for scheduled train maintenance.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Industrial Engine, Alder Steel, and Burrard Inlet Rail to refurbish the train for all our enthusiastic train-loving guests.
Thanks to everyone’s hard work and tireless efforts, we are happy to announce this locomotive will be chugging back to life for all our guests to enjoy on July 2nd, 2018. Brian Mason, President of Burrard Inlet Rail says: “We are pleased to respond to the Zoo’s request to upgrade the track structure and ensure safety at the highest level. I’m impressed with the Zoo’s effort to improve the entire facility and I look forward to seeing the train in action, creating new memories while bringing back a cherished part of the complete Zoo experience.”
Tickets can be purchased at the front gate upon admission. Train schedule may vary during the winter season. No refund and no exchange.
Our Safari Grill Restaurant features an assortment of wraps, fresh salads, burgers (including veggie burgers), hot dogs, fries, popcorn, chips, ice cream, cotton candy, snacks, Seattle coffee, specialty teas, hot chocolate, juice, a variety of cold drinks, milk, water and much more!
Please note that the small food concession at the North American Wilds area is only open weekends during the peak season.
Our Gift Shop offers a variety of practical items (i.e. film, sunscreen) in case you forgot anything. There is also a variety of gifts, toys, animal information, and a warm, fuzzy selection of plush animals to take home as a souvenir.
The Zoo has a full-sized playground for children, with a covered lunch area where everyone can gather and share in the fun! Covered gazebos by the playground cannot be reserved and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Located across from our Yellow Baboons and by Lemur Island, the picnic area is a popular place for a birthday party, corporate or group event, family picnic or for a wedding to remember. Please see our Group Rates page for more information.
