Habitat:
Coastal Carpet Pythons inhabit Australia, New Guinea and Indonesia.

Diet:
These pythons feed primarily at night on mammals and birds.

Biology:
These pythons are much more arboreal (tree-dwelling) than other pythons and tend to be long and slender.  One member of this genus, the scrub python (Morelia amethistina), is one of the world’s longest snakes, having been reported at lengths of over 22 feet.
