HIPPOPOTAMUS

Hippopotamus amphibius
Lifespan: 40 years
Diet: Herbivore-grasses, and sparse vegetation
Geographic Range: Africa
Conservation Status: Vulnerable

Fun Fact: Hippos are nocturnal and can spend up to 6 hours grazing overnight!

Keeper Perspective: Our hippos are half brother and half sister and love to splash around in their large pond!
