Our one-hour guided interpretive programs are appropriate for any age! Topics to choose from are:
- You and the Zoo: Full of fun animal facts, this is the perfect introduction to the Greater Vancouver Zoo and its inhabitants.
- Endangered Species: Many plants and animals are now threatened with extinction. Learn why species are at risk and what zoos are doing to protect and conserve animal species. (Earn your Endangered Species Badge!)
- Walking Safari: An introduction to some of our awesome animals. (This tour may be tailored to your group's specific needs).
You are required to bring your own tents, sleeping bags, camping equipment, drinking water, food (take-out is easy), extra clothing, toiletries, flashlights, matches and charcoal.
Check-in time is at 4.00 p.m and a $50.00 deposit is required and will be returned after your 9.00 a.m. checkout the next morning. For safety reasons, all equipment must be packed before 9.00 a.m. You are more than welcome to stay at the zoo for the remainder of the day.
The picnic area has water, electrical outlets, porta potties, fire pits, kindling and firewood as well as covered gazebos and picnic tables (sorry, there are no showers).
